What happens - if you don't maintainance your brake system?
As the braking system is exposed to the outside for a long time, it inevitably becomes contaminated and corroded. In addition, the braking system converts the vehicle’s kinetic energy into heat energy, and wear metal filings are constantly generated during the braking process. If it is not maintained in time, the following problems will occur.
Brake Noise
Friction and vibration between components often result in squealing or grinding sounds during braking.
Increased Wear
Without proper lubrication, metal parts rub directly against each other, accelerating wear and leading to more frequent and costly brake maintenance.
Reduced Performance
Excess friction limits the efficiency of the braking system, increasing stopping distance and reducing overall responsiveness.
Uneven Braking
A dry caliper can cause one brake pad to stick while the other moves freely, resulting in uneven pad wear and the vehicle pulling to one side.
Rust & corrosion
Caliper guide pin is corroded and not slide smoothly. Brake discs and wheel hubs are stuck, making disassembly difficult.
Potential Brake Failure ⚠️
In severe cases, seized or jammed components from insufficient lubrication can lead to total brake failure, posing a serious safety risk.
Exlpore lubrication points of your brake system
As a professional grease manufacturer in China, Morelic provides a full range of specialty greases designed to protect and extend the service life of your brake system components. Our high-performance lubricants ensure smooth movement, reduced noise, and long-term reliability — all at competitive prices compared with major international brands.

Step-by-Step Brake Maintenance Guide How to Lubricate a Brake System?
Each part of your brake system requires specific care. Recommended maintenance: 20,000 kilometers/time. Discover how Morelic specialty greases protect brake components, extend service life, and ensure reliable braking performance.
Brake Maintenance Tips
- Clean all parts before applying the proper lubricant or protective agent.
- For used brake pads, sand the surface lightly before cleaning.
- Do not let any lubricant or protective agent touch the friction surface of the brake pad.
- Check other brake components, such as brake fluid, to avoid poor performance caused by unrelated issues.
- Press the brake pedal several times before test driving to eliminate installation gaps.

Step 1: Clean & Inspect
Remove old grease, dust and metal debris from Brake Disc, Caliper & Pads before reapplying. A clean surface ensures even lubrication and prevents brake noise or uneven wear.

Step 2: Lubricate Caliper Guide Pins
Use Morelic #202 Caliper Guide Pin Grease for smooth caliper movement and corrosion protection. It prevents sticking and ensures stable braking performance.

Step 3: Grease the Brake Pads
Apply Morelic #203 Brake Pad Grease to the back of pads (Never Front!) and contact points. It reduces squeaking, vibration, and provides long-lasting heat protection.

Step 4: Protect Wheel Hub & Axle
Use Morelic #204 Wheel Hub Anti-Seize Paste to prevent rust and sticking under high temperature. Keeps disassembly easy and wheels running smoothly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Got questions about our brake system grease or services? Our FAQ section provides quick and clear answers to help you better understand Morelic brake grease and how it supports your business needs.
- Use a Silicone-Based grease on Caliper, that is safe for metal and rubber parts and avoid petroleum greases.
- Use grease with High-temperature solid additives such as Ceramic on BACK of brake pad.
- Use Copper grease/Silver Anti seize lubricant on Wheel Hub.
As the braking system works by converting kinetic energy into heat energy, and the temperature can reach as high as 600 ℃ during operation, normal grease or lithium-based grease cannot withstand brake heat.
Brake caliper grease is a non-melting, high-temperature lubricant designed to protect slide pins and prevent corrosion, noise, and sticking.
- Not exactly — “brake grease” and “caliper grease” are not completely interchangeable, although caliper grease is a type of brake system grease.
- Brake grease is a general term for lubricants formulated to perform under the high temperatures and pressures found in braking systems, and In daily life, it often refers to brake pad grease applied to the BACK of brake pads to reduce noise and vibration.
- Caliper grease, on the other hand, is specifically designed for lubricating caliper pins, slides, and other moving parts exposed to intense heat and friction.
When servicing brake components, it is essential to use a lubricant developed for brake applications and one that is compatible with rubber and plastic materials.
No. WD-40 and regular petroleum grease cannot withstand brake heat and may cause seal damage or brake failure. Always use dedicated brake or caliper grease.
- Apply Caliper Guide Pin Grease on Caliper pin holes, Caliper bushings & Guide pins.
- Apply brake grease on pad mounts, mounting tabs, and the back of pads (never the front!).
- Apply copper/silver anti-seize grease on Backing Plate and Shoe Anchor of the wheel hub.
- Clean old grease and dirt first, then apply Caliper Guide Pin Grease on Caliper pin holes, Caliper bushings & Guide pins.
- Apply brake pad grease on pad mounts, mounting tabs, and the back of pads (never the front!).
- Apply copper/silver anti-seize grease on Backing Plate and Shoe Anchor of the wheel hub.
Use a thin, even film — just enough to cover the pin. Too much can cause dust buildup or rubber swelling.
Reapply grease whenever you change brake pads or during routine brake maintenance, usually every 20,000 km.
Without lubrication, calipers may stick or seize, causing uneven pad wear, noise, overheating, or reduced braking performance.
Only use automotive-grade silicone or synthetic brake grease as an alternative. Do not substitute with multipurpose or lithium greases.
No. Over-greasing can cause leakage, dust accumulation, and uneven movement. Always apply a small, controlled amount.
Brake grease is formulated for high heat and safe for rubber parts, while regular grease is not and can break down or damage brake components.
